Palo Duro Wine Dinner

Sat Oct 17, 2026 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Sad Monkey Hall, 79015

Join us for our first Palo Duro Wine Dinner at Sad Monkey Hall, featuring an intimate evening of thoughtfully prepared food and Texas wine hosted by Red Dirt Vineyards and Sad Monkey Mercantile.

Enjoy four distinctive courses, each paired with a specially selected wine from Red Dirt Vineyards and Sad Monkey Mercantile, accompanied by live jazz throughout the evening. Doors at Sad Monkey Hall open at 6:00 PM, with dinner beginning at 7:00 PM.

First Course:
Fire-roasted sweet peppers filled with velvety Spanish sweet corn, finished with micro herbs.
Wine Pairing: Red Dirt Vineyards High Plains Riesling
Tasting Notes: Aromatic jasmine and crisp orchard fruits lead into a vibrant, mineral-driven acidity that cuts cleanly through the creamy corn while echoing the roasted peppers' natural sweetness.

Second Course:
Artisan meatballs - Tender Texas beef and pork meatballs, slow-simmered in a sun-ripened pomodoro reduction.
Wine Pairing: Sad Monkey Mercantile Sangiovese
Tasting Notes: Ripe red cherry, dried herbs, and savory earthiness backed by bright, classic acidity that effortlessly embraces the rustic game meats and the tang of the simmered tomato sauce.

Third Course:
Tender slices of Certified Angus Beef - New York Strip topped with drunken oysters in a rich balsamic wine glaze, served alongside braised asparagus spears.
Wine Pairing: Red Dirt Vineyards Gold Medalist Tannat
Tasting Notes: Bold layers of blackberry compote, espresso, and warming spice framed by muscular, velvety tannins—structured to slice through the prime dry-aged marbling with effortless power.

Fourth Course:
Decadent triple-layer dark chocolate torte accompanied by hand-whipped vanilla Chantilly and fresh wild berries.
Wine Pairing: Red Dirt Vineyards Double Gold Medalist Tannat Rosé
Tasting Notes: Bright wild strawberry, crushed cranberry, and delicate floral lift, offering just enough grip and lively effervescence to refresh the palate against the rich, dark cocoa.

Your ticket includes the complete four-course dinner and all four accompanying wine pairings. Seating is limited, so advance ticket purchase is required.

Guests must be 21 or older to enjoy the wine pairings. We look forward to sharing an unforgettable evening of great food, Texas wine, and Palo Duro hospitality with you!
